Newark celebrates Flag Day

Weather and attendance were good at the Flag Day parade on Saturday. Sponsored by Newark Lodge 1249 B.P.O. Elks, Mayor Fred Pirelli was the featured speaker. The United Methodist Church Choir sang and Elks Exalted Ruler Joe Carnevale introduced guests, including the Grand Marshalls, Francis Stein and Hap Burgess. The highlight of the parade - as always - was the Elks' enormous U.S. Flag. (S. Marcano photos)
