McDonald's Employee of the Year

Fred Norris has been named Employee of the Year at the Newark McDonald's.

A Marion resident, Fred has worked at the W. Union St. restaurant for about a year. McDonald's representative Shirley Finley said that Fred worked as a crew member for about three months before being promoted to a manager.

When making a decision on naming an Employee of the Year, Finley said that the company looks at criteria such as personality, neatness, promptness, and efforts of taking that "extra step.'
