54 CROP walkers raise $3100

Newark CROP Walk

The Newark CROP Walk was held in a chilly drizzle last Saturday morning. Fifty-four walkers raised $3100, which will help the Newark Food Closet, Emmanuel United Methodist Free Lunch Program, and Home Meal Service (Meals on Wheels).

The participating churches: Arcadia Reformed, St. Michael's, Newark First United Methodist, Park Presbyterian, Emmanuel UMC, Port Gibson United Methodist, and St. Mark's Episcopal.

EbonyThere were generous donations from businesses: Antonio's Pizza, Burger King, Chase-Pitkin, Dunkin' Donuts, Mark's Pizza, P&C, Perkins Restaurant, Town & Country Restaurant, Wal-Mart and Wegmans. Newark Police checked on the welfare of the walkers, on one-, three- and six-mile routes.
