Planning Board includes hopes for museum

The Newark Planning Board has recommended that the Arcadia Historical Society be allowed a use variance to convert the Christian Science Church (High Street at Mason) to a museum. More than 20 members of the Arcadia Historical Society were present at the hearing.

Smith Metal Works was recommended by the Board for approval of a site plan and area variance to construct a 100 X 40 addition to their shop on Rt. 31 East.

Stacy Duran of 207 Mason St. was given recommendation for permission to operate a family day care. The board requested that a privacy buffer be installed, in response to a neighbor's concern.

Arcadia Shopping Center representatives failed to appear before the Board regarding their application to add to an existing sign. The application was tabled.
