Lyons Center receives donations
According to Rick Wadsworth, who heads the Center's Board of Directors, Lyons native Bob Ohmann has used his Raleigh, NC business contacts to raise cash and material donations for long-needed repairs. More than $5000 in cash donations have been given, as well as new hardwood flooring and a complete set of new windows for the gymnasium. The cash donations are to be used to make necessary repairs to the plumbing and heating systems and other miscellaneous repairs to the structure. Wadsworth said that the repairs are seen as a needed "stopgap" measure to help the Community Center until a new building can be built. (Courier Gazette file photo) Copyright © 1997 |
