Art student profiled

An art student at Marion Jr/Sr High School is selected bi-monthly as Art Student of the Month. The purpose of this honor is to recognize that student's outstanding achievement in art, especially in the areas of creative thinking and art skills development.

Student of the Month is Michael Herman, a senior and 4th year art student. He has studied studio in art, drawing/painting I and II, advertising design, independent art, and will be studying sculpture and advanced drawing & painting next semester. He enjoys working in all art areas and plans to study at SUNY Fredonia for a career in advertising design. Mike has had his work exhibited in the Wayne County Student Art Shows and the Eastview Mall Student Art Shows.

Mike is an active member of the National Honor Society, Student Council and the Yearbook staff. He also is employed at Bell's Market in Palmyra. Mike is the son of Mike and Lisa Herman and has two sisters, Valerie and Stacy. His work is on display outside the auditorium.
