Letter carrier Vanderbrook retires
The lifelong resident of Newark began his postal career as a letter carrier at the Newark Post Office on January 14, 1966. Postmaster Jim Blandino said Vanderbrook has distinguished himself throughout his career; has always had genuine concern for the patrons on his route; and delivered the mail correctly and on time. Many postal and former postal employees turned out to toast and roast him at a retirement party. Dan Bailey was the master of ceremonies. Gary's retirement plans? Employment at Zappia Vending.
