NHS volleyball

Newark Varsity won the Midlakes Tournament held on October 4. The Reds defeated the Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders. Nazareth placed third by defeating the Canandaigua Braves.

Play standings were Palmyra Macedon 5-1, Newark 4-2, Nazareth 3-3, Canandaigua 3-3, Clyde-Savannah 3-3, Bishop Kearney 2-4 and Midlakes 1-5.

Amy HaresMaking the All-Tournament Team for the Reds were Sarah Coolidge, Kristina Polson and Amy Hares (pictured).

In non-league action on October 6, Newark defeated South Seneca in three straight sets - 15-1, 15-9 and 17-15. Hares led the 8-4 Reds with three kills.

The Newark JV (now 12-1) defeated South Seneca 15-1, 15-5, 15-9 on Monday at home. Newark got two kills from Lindsay Burgess, seven aces from Brook hetherley, three aces from Kadi Burgess, three assists from Crystal McIlwain.

The girls won 3-0 over the Victor Blue Devils on Oct. 8 at home. Scores were 15-4, 15-8, 15-10. McIlwain had three assists. Lindsay Burgess had four aces, and Kadi Burgess had four kills.
