Meet the Lighthouse Museum managers

Jack and Charlotte Sherman have settled into their light house apartment and nearly completed their first season as Operations Managers of the Sodus Bay Light House Museum, in Sodus Point.

Jack comes to the museum with 20 years of military experience in both the Air Force and Army. He retired for the second time in 1996 as a field engineer in the electronics industry, giving him time to devote to his true love - history.

Char has spent the last seven years as a reporter and features columnist covering North Broome County. Her many past jobs include coordinating Red Cross volunteers at two military bases in West Germany. She shares her husband's excitement in delving through the lighthouse archives to establish new exhibits and programs for the museum.

The couple will maintain their Whitney Point residence, living at the Lighthouse during the summer season. They have three grown children and seven grandchildren, which they plan to spend time with during the winter months.

The Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through October 31.
