Visit historic places On October 18, the third in the Wayne County Historical Society's current series of Safari tours will have a look at places in the county that are on, or have applications pending for listing on, national or state registers of historic sites. As in the case of previous Safaris, this one begins at 10 a.m. at the County Museum, 21 Butternut St., Lyons, with a briefing by Society staff and a discussion of the Safari route and its photographic opportunities. Like the others, this is a driving caravan tour; participants use their own cars and proceed at their own pace. It will conclude at about 1 p.m. Among the sites on the tour will be historic districts in Clyde, Palmyra, Ontario, and Pultneyville, and individual buildings in Lyons and Wallington. There is a modest charge, and pre-registration is strongly recommended. For further information please call the Wayne County Historical Society, (315) 946-4943.
