Walking through the cemetery

Local residents portrayed deceased members of the community as the Arcadia Historical Society hosted a cemetery walk last weekend.

As people took a tour of the Newark Cemetery, they encountered volunteers, including Leo Kamalsky, Burt Ford and Doug Kraai (all pictured). Kamalsky portrayed Revolutionary veteran Benjamin Lewis

Burt Ford took the role of village founder Joseph Miller.

And Kraai played the part of David Fox, brother to the Fox Sisters.

The two tours (held Fri. and Sat.) began at the Harriet Nichols Memorial Chapel, and meandered through the N. Main St. property.

Walkers visited eight burial sites which were "inhabited" by "past" residents.
