Newark girls soccer

First-round Sectional game:

The varsity girls played at Wayne Central on Oct. 21 and lost 2-1. Kara Williams made the Newark goal. The girls ended the season at 3-16.

JV Lady Reds

The jayvee team lost 2-0 to Marcus Whitman on October 16 at Whitman. Newark was ahead in the shots-on-goal column 21-8. Jessica Steinburg had eight saves.

On October 14 Newark posted a 2-0 win over Canandaigua.

Pictured are Nicole Simonse, Nikki Parker and Alisa Parmiter.

Jillian Benge and Simonse each scored, and Benge added an assist. Steinburg had two saves.
