 Myers Golf Classic raises thousands More than $25,000 was raised at the 3rd Annual Myers Golf Classic that was held in August at the Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club in Sodus Point.
The winning foursomes were: men's - Gary Baker, Ed Riefline, John Frazier and Richard Ranieri; mixed - Mibb Browne, Bill Holman, Jim Williams, Dick Przysiada; women's - Leslie Maracle, Janet Derleth, Paula Ranke, and Dawn Connelly. Copyright © 1997 |

In addition to the golfing, the Foundation also held a
hot air balloon golf ball drop. Rick Buckles of Williamson brought his hot air balloon (pictured)
to the course and took a tethered flight over one of the fairways. Golf Committee
Chairman Bill May of Sodus Point then dropped a bucket of numbered golf balls from the
balloon. Numbered tickets had been sold throughout Wayne County prior to the event and the
winner was the person whose ball went in the hole or was judged closest to the pin. This
year the hole-in-one winner was Don Gardner of Ontario.
