Marion Historic Assn. News Arloa DeLyser, Nancy Nevelizer, Barb Ressue, Nancy Karasinski, Dave and Diane VanLare, Rick Bush, Art Tierson, Fran DeWind, Joe Bovet, Dick O'Conner helped during Heritage Days at the Marion Historic Association booth. The Association previewed their new note cards with various scenes from the Marion Coverlet, and this year's Christmas ornament, which is the Atlantic Hotel. They were both very well received. Also available for sale was their 1995 (Bandstand) and 1996 (Young Homestead) Christmas Collector series ornaments. There are some coverlets still for sale. The Association received a lot of interest in the fall program, which will feature a presentation and book signing by Civil War author George Shadman. His new book, They Marched on Richmond will be available for purchase. Mark your calendar: Oct. 14, 7 p.m. at the Marion Court Room. There will also be a display of Civil War items at the Museum. If you have any items you would like to loan for this program, call one of the members. Members were also signing up volunteers for Museum Hosts. They have been able to keep the Museum open Saturday mornings 9 to noon, from April till now and hope to continue into fall. Thanks to all those people who signed up Heritage Days weekend and also, all those who have been working to keep it open for the community, visitors and researchers alike.
