Local kids win national art contest

national art contestThe artwork of two local youngsters has been published in a calendar published by Pediatric Health.

Four-year-old Anne Gigliotti of Marion and Anthony Sakowski, age 5, of Savannah, have been named winners in a national art contest for children. The entries in the Third Annual "Pediatric Picasso" Coloring Contest, sponsored by Pfizer U.S. Pharmaceuticals Group, were submitted by their pediatricians.

Anne's pediatrician is Steven Galutia, MD, of Newark, and Anthony's doctor is Richard Endres, MD.

national art contestThe winning artwork appears in a 1997-98 school year wall calendar for pediatricians. The winners were selected by a panel of judges chosen by Impact Communications. Inc., a New York City firm. Judges picked winners based on the artistic merit of their drawing.

Winners received a Trek bicycle and safety helmet, a framed copy of their artwork, and one of the calendars. The Trek bicycle and safety helmet were provided by Pfizer Inc through Recreational Equipment in Fairport, NY, the local retailer for this trail bike brand.
