Rog and Gen Adriaansen are back from a trip to Dover, NH where they visited thier friend Ann Renzi. Traveling through the mountains, they were surprised to see all of the color showing on the trees.

He who has a thing to sell and goes and whispers in a well, is not so apt to get the dollars, as he who climbs a tree and hollers.

The annual pig roast will be at the United Church on September 20. Servings start at 4:30 p.m. With the roast pork are salt potatoes, corn on the cob, cole slaw, applesauce, rolls, cupcakes, and beverages.

There will be a one-day bus trip to Cherry Creek on October 6, leaving from Newark. Dinner at the Grainey Restaurant, an Amish country tour, and a shopping stop. Call 331-7146 for information; you may leave a message on the answering machine.

Guess what I heard: Beginning September 24, there will be tours for visitors to QVC!

Have you phoned Virginia Lupold about the Wheeling WV trip to see the Festival of Lights...through Oglebay Park and downtown Wheeling. Dates are Nov. 10-11-12. Call her at 597-4372.

September 13, 1939: Members of the school band who played in the series of summer concerts were rewarded by a trip to Coburg last Saturday. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Theron Forbes, Mrs. Karl Morrison, Mrs. Sillman, Mrs. Exton, Mrs. Howard Radley and Mrs. Roy Curtis.
