Animal sales help Red Cross Want to get an early start on your holiday gift buying? Gund stuffed animals are now available at selected locations. Sold only as a fundraiser for the American Red Cross, the Gund animals make great gifts for anyone, from toddlers to senior citizens. Available this year will be "Trooper," a 23-inch honey brown dog so well trained that he will never chew on your slippers ($25); "Duffy", a white 20-inch bear, festively trimmed with a plaid Christmas bow ($15); "Zack," a 20-inch brown bear with light beige muzzle and paws ($15); "Skoop," 20 inches of floppy puppy with long dark brown ears, white muzzle, puppy nose, and a quizzical expression ($15). You may purchase animals from any Wayne County American Red Cross Board member: Pat Mason, Barb Nittolo, Jane Hubbs, Bill Stirling, Ellie Duhamel, Deb Halderman, Nancy Briggs, Amy McMullin, Tom Pusateri, Father Bob Smith, Rick Gilbert, Vince Craft, Rita Otterbein, George Denniston, Art Williams, Cal Bucknam, and Don Cedruly. American Red Cross provides emergency housing, food, and clothing to people affected by fire, flood, and other disasters. Red Cross volunteers are there to help put lives back together following tragedy.
