DeMay honors nursing assistants

Three nursing assistants from the DeMay Living Center at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital were honored recently at a Nursing Assistant Recognition Luncheon. Mary Caster of Newark, Jane Humbert of Clyde, and Diane Schram of Palmyra attended the luncheon which was sponsored by the Lifespan Long Term Care Ombudsman Program.

Representatives from 33 facilities attended the event where the guest speaker, Lois Griesing, RN, of Eden Alternative Associate spoke about the value of the certified nursing assistant in the interdisciplinary care-giving team.

"Mary, Jane and Diane exemplify all of the qualities which are desired of nursing assistants. Each of them is always patient, caring and does whatever is necessary for their residents. We're very proud of their years of service and the wonderful job that they always do," Nedvesky stated.

DeMay Living Center is a 160-bed residential healthcare facility operated by Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. Newark-Wayne Community Hospital is a 280-bed, not-for-profit health care facility providing high quality health care services to Wayne County since 1957. The hospital is an affiliate of ViaHealth.
