Daylight Savings Time starts at 2 a.m. on April 5. Turn your clocks forward one hour before retiring on Saturday.

Rog and Gen Adriaansen have returned home after spending time visiting in Florida.

Dan and Heidi (Levan) Jensen announce the birth of Tanner Colby, on March 13, weighing 6 lb. 10 oz. His proud grandparents are Stanley and Joyce Jensen of Farmington and Chip and Lonnie Levan of Marion.

Two other trips are coming up. May 27, Wednesday, a trip to Penn Yan stopping at Weaver-View Farms. Lunch at Miller's Essenhaus Restaurant. Visit Fullagar Farms for tour and afternoon ride aboard the Viking Spirit on Kueka Lake.

July 15 (Wednesday) - Travel to Medina for mule-drawn packet boat ride along the Erie Canal, buffet at Apple Grove Inn. Call Evelyn Petty at 986-4666 for information and reservations.

The Stephen Series Caring Ministry Workshop will be April 25 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Webster. This will teach you how to reach out to others in difficult situations.

Bev Layton is recovering from knee surgery.

Maundy Thursday Service will be held at the United Church on April 9 at 7:30 p.m. Pastor Bill Hoffman of the First Reformed Church will join Pastor Dan Meyer for this service.

There will be a Doll Exhibit at the Marion Museum on Saturday, April 18 from 10 till noon.

Rev. Roger White, Director of the Odosagih Bible Conference, presented the morning worship service at the Second Reformed Church on March 29.

Sandy MacLaughlin is recovering at home following surgery.

Elsie Everdyke is a patient at the Newark Hospital following a fall.

The Marion PTA Easter Egg Hunt at the elementary gym is tomorrow, April 4 at 10 a.m. Children up to grade 6 are invited to attend this free event.

APRIL 9, 1953: Final payment on the Marion Central School old building debt was made in April by District No., 29 years after the first annual payment in 1924.

The Marion Publications Club is having a Chicken BBQ on Saturday, April 4 at the Elementary School cafeteria. The cost is $6, eat in or take out. Serving starts at 6:30 p.m.

Nancy Karasinski just returned from Florida where she visited with her sister in Clermont. From there she met up with her husband Ken in Ft. Lauderdale where they went on a dinner cruise up the Intracoastal Waterway to Miami on a private yacht, the Lady Frances. From there they went to Key West for a week. They visited the Little White House Museum that was used first by President Harry S. Truman and other subsequent Presidents, and Mel Fisher's Maritime Heritage Museum that includes artifacts from the Atocha, a Spanish galleon that sunk in a storm off the Florida Keys in 1622.

A roast beef dinner is planned for April 10 at the Marion Legion Home. Prices are $5.50, $5 and $3.50.

The Marion Museum opens for the season. The hours will be 9 a.m.- noon beginning April 4 and continuing through the end of October except holidays. The Marion Historic Association welcomes volunteers. If you are interested in being a host, please call 926-5078.

Wee Town USA, 3728 S. Main St., Marion will hold its spring open house on Saturday, April 4 from 9-5 p.m. and on Sunday, April 5 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
