Good Friday in Lyons

Everyone is invited to attend a special service of Prayers and Hymns on Good Friday, April 10 at the First Presbyterian Church of Lyons. The service will begin at noon and run approximately 45 minutes. The Rev. Cynthia Huling Hummel will preach a meditation, "Forsaken!"

The church will be open in the afternoon for a time of personal reflection and prayer.

At 7 p.m. that evening, Lyons Presbyterian will host the youth of Park Presbyterian as they present the musical, "Living on the Edge" by Michael W. Smith. This contemporary Christian musical is directed by the Rev. Stuart Buisch and answers the question: "What Would Jesus Do?"

There will be a free will offering to offset the cost of the musical, which is made possible in part by public funds from the NY State Council on the Arts' Decentralization program, which is administered locally by the Council for the Arts. There will be a reception following the performance.
