"Main Street" seminar offered How to develop our downtowns in Wayne County, will be the topic of the "Main Street Seminar." The focus of this seminar will be on how a downtown community, working together, can coordinate its efforts to re-vitalize commerce, and also its individual businesses by the use of a combination of tools and strategies. Who should come - anyone interested in the improvement of their downtown. Especially targeted to business owners, chambers of commerce, town and village boards, zoning and planing boards and other service organizations. Gene Delgado is the featured speaker and is among the nation's experts on downtown revitalization. He has conducted workshops on commercial district revitalization issues throughout the United States and has been a regular presenter at many national conventions relating to planning and downtowns. He is employed by the National Main Street Center in Washington, DC. The Center conducts research, produces training materials and serves as a national advocate for America's commercial districts. Other togics include: The Geneva Experience, The Clyde Movement, Business Succession Planning, Business Improvement Districts, Zoning and Building Codes and How to Fund Projects. The seminar will be held April 20, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Quality Inn in Newark.
