4-H stamp club forming

Stamp Collecting is once again a popular past time for young and old. There are many types of stamps that people take interest in collecting. Some people pick a specific topic such as animals, flowers, sports or people. Others collect different stamps from different countries and others collect postmarks.

On May 4, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Newark Library, youth are invited to attend a get-aqcuainted informational meeting on starting a new 4-H stamp-collecting club. 4-H is an excellent opportunity and setting for this type of club. Youth ages 6 to 19 are invited. (Youth ages 6 & 7 need to have a parent with them for all meetings.)

The 4-H club is expected to be in full swing in the fall and will meet once a month for an hour. If you would like more information on Stamp Collecting, the club or becoming a 4-H volunteer, contact Kimberly Gardner at Cornell Cooperative Extension, 1581 Rt.88 N., Newark, NY 14513 or call 331-8415.
