Community mural seminar Seaway Studios Arts & Cultural Center will be offering a unique, three-day Community Mural Seminar on May 29, 30, and 31 at the Erie Canal Cultural Center in Lyons. Featuring moderator and instructor Deborah Clover, this intensive workshop will cover all aspects of developing and implementing a large, community-planned and created art project with long-term regional significance. Creating a public mural brings into play all the factors that can help develop community pride. Clover is a consultant with a strong background in folklore, community organizing, and administration and is currently director of the New York Folklore Society. She has helped design and implement projects with the Brooklyn Children's Museum, the Community Built Association, Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation, Historic Ithaca, and an array of community centers and citizen groups. Enrollment is limited to 15 for this workshop, with a 10% discount on the registration fee of $65 if received by April 30. The deadline for signing up is May 15.
