Raptors ready for season The Newark Raptors of the Northeastern Collegiate Baseball League (NCBL) have announced revisions to their schedule. These changes were made when the league announced that the Little Falls franchise would not compete during 1998. With the schedule change, the Raptors will now play 24 home games at Colburn Park. Colburn is located on Route 31 East. The Raptors will also change divisions and play in the NCBL's West Division. Along with Newark, the West Division consists of the Hornell Dodgers, Wellsville Nitros and the Geneva Knights. Playing in the East Division are the Schenectady Mohawks, Rome Indians, Cortland Apples and the Ithaca Lakers. The Raptors will begin their 44-game season at home on June 5 against the Geneva Knights. In total, the Raptors will play 10 games versus the Knights, five of which will be at Colburn Park.
