Happenings If you haven't tried the Pecan Pancakes at Maryellen's Main Street Cafe in Marion, you have a treat coming! They were a special listed on Sunday's menu. Gertrude Collier is happy to be at her own apartment at Seven Hearths. Welcome home! Art and Shirley Stone are home from Florida where they have been spending time with family and friends. (I heard that it got pretty chilly at some of the ball games there.) Don't forget--May 3 is the date of the CROP Walk in Palmyra. All families who have had a baby baptized in the last year are invited to a reunion dinner on April 26 at 5 p.m at St. Gregory's hall. Please RSVP at 926-4323. Bruce and Ethel Stone are back where they have been staying at their place in Florida. The Easter banner at the United Church, was a gift from the church school youth in grades 4-12. And the butterfly tree decorations were from the church school children ages 2 through the third grade. You know all of those flower arrangement baskets that are sitting around? Well, there is a need for them at the ARC in Newark. Please drop them off when you are there or if you leave them at 4063 Maple Ave. (the street by the bank) I'll get them there. Marsha Ver Plank is recuperating at home following a hospital stay. John W. Smith was a guest speaker at the worship service at the Second Reformed Chruch. Mr. Smith is from the Jackson County Ministries in Annville, Kentucky. "April Foolishness" is the title of the open gym nite at the Second Reformed Church's Educational Building on April 25. Games and fun will be from 7:30-10 p.m. This is for all students in grades 7-12. "No man ever got lost on the straight and narrow road." The next Chicken and Biscuit Dinner at the First Reformed Church, will be on May 4. Mark your calendars. Family Night Roller Skating Party, sponsored by the Marion PTA will be on Friday, April 24, in the Elementary School gym. All children must be accompanined by an adult. The Marion Senior Class Magazine Campaign begins on April 24-May 11. Be sure to attend the Home and Business Show in Williamson on April 26. See what's new in the area. Stanley and Isabelle Bushart have returned from a trip to Melrose, New Mexico, where they visited their son, Rev. Kevin Bushart, his wife, Kim and daughters Hayley, Hannah and Heather. They attended Easter Sunrise service as well as regular Easter services conducted by their son. Marion Senior Citizens have resumed meetings, and will be meeting at the Marion Fire Hall on Tuesday, April 28, for dinner at noon. Please bring a dish to pass and table service. All are welcome to attend. Thanks! to all those who attended the Easter Buffet at the Marion American Legion Home sponsored by the Legion Junior Auxiliary and Junior Sons on April 11. Proceeds from this effort will go to the Canandaigua Veterans Hospital. The Ladies Auxiliary of the Marion Fire Department are sponsoring an annual spring Chicken Bar-B-Q at the Marion Fire Hall on Saturday, April 25th. Serving will begin around 3 p.m. Take outs will be available, $6.00.
