Daffodils, tulips and bleeding heart are in bloom, Dan, and I can barely make out the steeple on the First Reformed Church.

At St. Gregory's Church, First Eucharist celebration will be held on May 2 at 1 p.m.

In case you noticed our #3 son's head sticking out of the sunroof of a blue car, he was filming the first in a series of Marion videos for the museum files.

The CROP walk in Palmyra is Sunday.

The First Reformed Church chicken and biscuit dinner is May 4 from 5-7 p.m. Homemade pies; take-outs available; $6 and $5. No charge for children under age 5.

A chicken BBQ is planned at the Masonic Lodge, on May 16 at 3 p.m. Take-outs available; $5.50 and $3.

Jay and Carol Ramsey enjoyed a 12-day vacation in the South. Five days were spent at Elderhostels in Kentucky and Tennessee, and the remainder of the time was at Carol's sister Barbara's home in Lexington. The Ramseys toured Henry Clay's estate (Ashland), the Abraham Lincoln Museum, Berea Folk Arts and Crafts Centers, the Colonel Harland Saunders Cafe and Museum, and the Lost Squadron Museum.

Paul, Sue and Justin Devlin of Marion, and Mary Jane Devlin of Walworth, enjoyed a vacation in Florida. They spent four days at Disney World, where they saw their daughter Jenny perform with the Marion High School Band. They spent two days at Universal Studios. They played miniature golf - Justin fed the baby alligators at the golf course.

Phillip Meyer, son of the Rev. Dan and Bev of the United Church, was welcomed at the worship service on April 26. Phillip is home for a visit after serving a tour in the Gulf.

Svea and Howard Dahlberg are back in Marion after a stay in the sunny South.

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Marion Fire Dept. thanks all of you who helped make the BBQ such a success. Watch for another one in August.

John De Point is residing at the Wayne County nursing Home in Lyons, 14489.

Marie Leno is recuperating following surgery.

It was nice to see Dennis and Loretta Van Strien, now back from Florida.

Jean Fitzgerald of North Main St. continues to recover at home. Her family says she is doing very well after surgery to remove cataracts from both eyes.

Mina Pembroke entertained her daughter Linda Kaiser, granddaughter Christina, and son-in-law Harvey, of Syracuse. Harvey shared slides from his recent book "Landmarks in the Landscape" at the library's dessert buffet on Saturday.

MAY 7, 1942: St. Gregory's Catholic Church will open the new dining room for a three-cent supper on the evening of Wednesday, May 13.

Do you remember when the worst act of disobedience in school was chewing gum?

The Marion Historic Assn. will have a Spring Program on May 12. Chris Davis of Newark will talk about peppermint.
