On April 9, there was a special storytime at the Sodus Free Library. Pauline Baker, the Reading Teacher Assistant from the Sodus Intermediate School, and a group of fifth grade students put on a fun storytime based on a book called White Rabbit Colorbook by Alan Baker. In advance, the students planned an informative storytime for the five-year-old
children of the community. Each student made coloring sheets to help the pre-schoolers
learn their colors. The students held up a different color rabbit while Mrs. Baker and the
students read from the book.
Everyone enjoyed themselves, the students as well as the audience. The fifth graders who took part were included: Chris Thurston, Michele Miller, Jazmine Owens, Antonio Parker, Randi Peer, Nicole Millon, Anthony Montgomery, Michael White and Heidi Knapp. Mrs. Baker is hoping to have more storytimes with the students in the future. The new Librarian, Carol Garland, passed out bookmarks to the fifth graders to show her appreciation. Copyright © 1998 |
