Happenings Mr. and Mrs. Robert DeNearing and Mr. and Mrs. Doug Wessie traveled to Morgantown, Pa. on July 11th, to attend the De Nearing's granddaughter's wedding. The marriage and reception of Gene Green and Diana DeNearing took place at the lovely Wayneport Inn in Honey Brook, Pa. Troy Meland, son of Jim and Linda, celebrated his 4th birthday on July 28th with ice cream and cake on their new back porch. Family members gathered to help him celebrate. AUGUST 12, 1943 - The Marion Board of Education has granted a leave of absence to Principal Frank Mosher to accept a commission of luetenant, Jr. grade, in the U.S. Naval Reserve. Rog and Gen Adriaansen hosted the Adriaansen family reunion at their home on Sunday, July 26th. The children enjoyed splashing in the pool while the older folks sat around and talked of past days and future dreams. Family members arrived from as far away as Palmyra and Rochester. "Live with intention, walk to the edge, listen hard, practice wellness, play with abandon, laugh, choose with no regret, continue to learn, appreciate your friends, do what you love, live as if this is all there is." Congratulations to Howard and Caroline Bushart on the occasion of their 52nd Wedding Anniversary on August 3rd. The Marion Boy Scouts are looking for boys ages 11-18 years old. If you are looking for adventure in Boy Scouts of America, Troop 130 is interested in meeting you. The Troop meets at Marion High School Room #17 on Monday evenings at 7-8:30 p.m. If you are interested in hiking, camping, and looking for a group to hang out with, call Fran Brusso at 926- 5454 or Dick O'Connor at 926-5787. Doug and Jeanette Wessie spent the weekend of July 26th with their daughter, Franz and Judy Kopf in Eldred, NY. Plan to attend the Marion Historic Association meeting on August 11th to finalize plans for the Marion Festival. Howard and Svea Dahlberg were delighted to have as houseguests for three days, Lars and Anna Granstrom from Stockholm, Sweden. They are the son and granddaughter of Margit Granstrom, Svea's cousin, who visited Marion 22 years ago. Copyright © 1998 |
