Busharts reunite in Marion

The annual Bushart reunion was held on Aug. 2 at the Marion Town Park with 51 family members present. Those attending were mostly from area towns.

Coming the farthest were Elaine (Bushart) Sievert and son Steve, from Oxford, NC. The three remaining Bushart brothers, Joe, Stanley and Howard attended, with Joe being the oldest in the group. Youngest was Edward (Teddy) Townson, son of Ted and Ruth (Bushart) Townson.

Melvin Bushart, who was in charge of the reunion this year, introduced everyone by families. There were 10 Bushart brothers originally and all the families were represented. We also enjoyed looking at a display of old family pictures which Melvin had acquired. The children enjoyed the play equipment and fields at the Town Park. Next year's reunion will be the first Sunday in August again and Gordon Bushart of Palmyra is in charge.
