Newark banks are making headlines

The new Community Bank at the Newark Plaza was being "constructed" on Friday afternoon. It replaces the 40-year-old building northeast of Wegmans entrance. That building will be torn down in October. Also Friday afternoon, the Marine Midland signs were taken off the Plaza bank building. That Marine Midland branch closed at 3 p.m. on August 21.
