Managers appointed at Newark hospital ViaHealth of Wayne announced the appointment of Deborah Giambo of Webster and Tod Mitchell of Liverpool. Giambo has been appointed laboratory supervisor, and Mitchell is the new director of patient accounts. Giambo will be responsible for the laboratories at ViaHealth of Wayne's Myers and Newark-Wayne Campuses and for the laboratory collection stations in Williamson and Wolcott. She graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a medical technology degree and completed an internship at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. She received her specialty certification in Hematology in 1982 from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Previously, Giambo was the laboratory director at Myers Commurity Hospital, and was a lab supervisor at Park Ridge Hospital and at Geneva General. As director of patient accounts, Mitchell will manage the patient accounts and admissions offices at ViaHealth of Wayne. He graduated from SUNY Oswego with a bachelor's degree in liberal arts. Previously, he was the director of patient accounting at Myers Community Hospital; was an accountant at Syracuse Community Health Center; and was the business office manager at Rome and Murphy Memorial Hospital. ViaHealth of Wayne was formed on April 1, 1998 through the merger of Myers and Newark-Wayne Community Hospitals.
