Sodus kids find February fun

Sodus Cooperative Nursery kidsIt has been a busy winter for the three- and four-year-olds at the Sodus Cooperative Nursery School. In addition to the learning of the alphabet, days of the week, colors and numbers, the children have participated in many fun activities which enhance the learning experience.

February may be a short month, but the days are packed. It began with a Movie and Pizza Day. They each received a movie ticket with a chair number on it and were able to get popcorn from the "concession stand." Homemade pizzas filled the tummies that day.

The students had an opportunity to try bumper bowling at Cherry Lanes last week, a first for many and fun for all. They decorated a classroom wall with fancy, glittery, handmade hearts and had a wonderful time at their Valentine Party last Friday.

Mrs. Ikeler and Miss Stephanie are looking forward to seeing all the students after the winter recess is over. Some special projects are planned, including the making of birdfeeders for our feathered friends. The groundhog's prediction of six more weeks of winter may have had grownups grumbling, but to the SCNS kids, winter is just like any other season - FUN!
