AECC 8th grade All-Stars

The Alex Eligh Community Center eighth grade boys All-Star squad recently finished 2-1 in the Slam-Fest basketball tournament at the Newark High School.

AECC grade 8 All-Stars: (front) Dan Behlau, Justin Loson, Adam Quku, Tim Brinkman, Jimmy Russell, Brian Johnson, Jeff Peters; (back) Coach Gary Czerkas, Henry Kuperus, Mike Jinks, Marc Muscolino, Josh Whyte, Tom Van Halle, and Asst. Coach Travis Martin.

In their first game on February 14, Newark dropped a 38-29 decision to Ithaca. Newark trailed 23-20 at halftime Justin Loson scored seven in a losing cause with Henry Kuperus adding six points.

In their second game, Newark defeated South Seneca 43-19. Josh Whyte scored 12 points with Tom VanHalle adding eight and Kuperus and Marc Muscolino adding six apiece. In their third game on February 15 Newark defeated Marcus Whitman 34-28. Whyte and Muscolino scored nine points apiece; Dan Behlau scored six and Jeff Peters scored five points.
