Christmas wreathWanted:
Artificial greenery

If you haven't seen the Rose Committee's giant Christmas wreath on Newark's East Avenue Bridge, be sure to check it out before Sunday, January 11. The Rose Committee will be taking down the wreath Sunday and storing the frame until next year.

Not only is the wreath large (20 feet in diameter), but it is heavy. The Rose Committee used about 15 volunteers from the Newark community and Rochester to assemble and lift the wreath into position.

The Rose Committee would like to replace the fresh cut evergreen boughs on the wreath with artificial greenery. Not only will this be lighter and easier to lift into place, but it will diminish the need to sacrifice trees to the cause.

If you will be or know of someone who will be retiring an artificial Christmas tree or decorations please call 331-2993 to arrange drop off or pick-up of the artificial greenery.
