JANUARY 19, 1922: A demonstration of phonographs was held at the rooms of the Marion Fire Department. After two hours and 17 ballots, a Cheny was chosen.

Money raised by the youths of the United Church on Make A Difference Day was used to provide five Thanksgiving food baskets to needy families. The kids also bought winter boots for a family.

Watch for the bottle collection fundraiser sign at Fancy Pants on North Main Street. Money from your donated cans and bottles will go to the Senior Bash Committee - for a safe, drug- and alcohol-free environment after high school graduation.

If at first you succeed, don't take any more stupid chances.

The Marion Historic Assn. thanks people who supported the open house and bake sale, and all who supplied decorations; thank you to museum hosts, people who purchased items, and those who provided items for the bake sale. Marion Sports....During Christmas vacation the boys varsity basketball team won two games, defeating Gananda 76-38 and Bloomfield 84-59. The boys defeated Sodus 76-57. Good team defense was again the key. Luke Lauffenburger led the scorers with 24 points, while Steve Schutt handed our 8 assists.

The girls varsity basketball team lost to Clyde-Savannah 55-31.

The Marion wrestling team lost to South Seneca 33-36. Winning for Marion were Jamie Pentland, Jake Miles, Dave Schneider, and John Compton. Getting pins for Marion were Zach Freeman and Mike Thorne.

Leighton Wiant is recuperating after falling.

Gerald Love has recently had heart bypass surgery.

Happy Birthday to Lonnie Levan on January 9.

RAIN-RAIN-RAIN - and into the basement again!

There will be a ham dinner at the Second Reformed Church on January 19 from 5-7 p.m. Also served will be baked potatoes, salad bar, rolls, dessert bar and beverages. Take-outs available by calling 926-4235. Financial donations benefit the youth group's winter camping trip.
