Habitat houses planned in Clyde At the January directors meeting, Habitat for Humanity of Wayne County accepted the gift of two building lots in Clyde, from D. Gordon Walker of Williamson. President Irene Fadden, said, "The excitement is building as we look forward to Houses #10 and #11 in Clyde. With a lot of help from our friends and supporters, we can reach our goal of building more than one house per year... Of course, that means stepping up our fundraising efforts and recruiting lots of help from local churches and businesses in Wayne County." President Fadden welcomed seven new board members who have joined the mission to build simple, decent homes with those in need. She gave a special thanks to retiring Board member, Anna Steurrys, who has been involved from the beginning, ten years ago. Anna recruited these new members, and deserves a year off: Pattie Teeter of Fairport; Gordon Walker, Williamson; Rich Fraser, Webster; Janet and Richard Norsen, Newark; Bernie Sullivan, Ontario, and Peter Fadden, Walworth. They join Russ and Rita Goebert, and Stephen Kennard, all of Palmyra; Doug Doebler, Macedon; Mike Jeffers, and Anne Johnson of Ontario; Irene Fadden, Walworth; Al Walker of Rose. Officers are President Irene Fadden; VP Steve Kennard; Secretary Pete Fadden; and Treasirer Mike Jeffers. Carl Hutchinson, Anna Steurrys and Jim Bollman will remain active in Habitat's mission. Jim and his wife, Pat, will continue to edit the Habitat Hammer. Currently, building continues weekdays and Saturdays on House #8 in Williamson, across from the high school on Route 21. A family has been selected for House #9 in Newark, and plans are being reviewed by the Construction Committee. Groups planning to join in the construction may call 986-9915, for an update of the work schedule.
