Omega helps Head Start

June Renner, Angela Brown, and Lois LudwigThe Omega Chapter, The Delta Kappa Gamma Society, under the direction of Betty LaBarge, recently organized discussion on how to help a Head Start Program. Newark Head Start Program was contacted to ascertain their needs and desires.

On January 13, two members of Omega Chapter delivered a package of activity books and flannel board aids intended to help motivate, support, and reinforce Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes, folk tales such as The Gingerbread Boy, The Little Red Hen, Jack and the Beanstalk, The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Billy Goats Gruff and Farm and Weather Units.

The materials were donated by the following members of Omega Chapter: Doris Crellin, Bernice Hilfiker, Virginia Munson, June Renner, Erma Rooke, Jo Ann K. Shepard from Newark; Lois Ludwig from Port Gibson; Shirley Crosby, Margaret Snyder and Kathleen C. Van Dusen from Clifton Springs; and Eunice Barnes from Lyons. The materials were presented to Angela Brown, the Head Start teacher.
