Pottery workshop at Blossom View

Sharon Weimer and Mary HemstreetBlossom View Nursing Home in Sodus now offers a Pottery Workshop for its residents. Sharon Weimer, Activities Assistant, has been doing artwork for most of her adult life. Pictured with Weimer is Mary Hemstreet.

Weimer started by taking ceramics for two years in the Buffalo area. She became interested in oil painting and took lessons from two artists in the Buffalo area for a total of five years.

She attended classes in drawing the draped figure, wildlife, watercolor, and pastel at various workshops and galleries. She began conducting her own painting workshops in her home and worked part-time in a wildlife art gallery until she moved back to this area. Here, she became interested in pottery through her friendship with two women who had mastered the art.
