grnhs.jpg (21925 bytes)If you are looking for reasonable prices, a large assortment of flowers and a friendly face, you may want to visit the Defisher Greenhouse on 7241 Ridge Road, Sodus.

Defisher's Greenhouse has been a part of Sodus for generations. A family-owned and operated business, it was originally owned by Doug Defisher's grandparents. It was then passed down to his parents and now Char and Doug run the greenhouse. grnhs2.jpg (21677 bytes)This is Char and Doug's third year. It would be interesting to see what the greenhouses looked like so many years ago, before so many new types of flowers and plants came along.

I have been to the Defisher Greenhouse many times myself in the past two weeks buying mulch and flowers. They have everything from mums to marigolds, verbena to beans, grnhs4.jpg (20909 bytes)impatiens, begonias, petunias, and watermelon plants, just to name a few.

The Defishers are always happy to be of assistance. They will help carry the plants to your car and will answer any questions you may have about plants and/or gardening.

grnhs5.jpg (21725 bytes)During the season annuals and vegetables are $2 a pack, with many plants in each pack. Perennials are quite large and $5 each. Now that it's really too hot to get much into the ground, the plants are all on sale. For most of us, our gardens are all planted, but, you could still get a perennial or two in. Many times I save a special spot in the garden for a perennial or two that will look great now and will come back up and look even better next year.
