Sodus Community Center vote

Sodus Community CenterThe vote for the Sodus Community Center was Tuesday, July 14. The project was voted down by six votes.

People went to the high school auditorium to vote on the Community Center, which would haved housed an indoor pool for use by K-l2, a new gymnasium with an upper level walking/jogging track, locker rooms, a fitness center, a child care room, aerobics/exercise/dance/tumbling room, conference rooms and a kitchen.

The Intermediate School building would have had grades 3-5 and share space with the Community Sodus Community CenterCenter. A new computer lab, and new library would also have been added. The High School building would house 6-12 grade (the Middle wing would be for grades 6-8 and separated from grade 9-l2). Plans for the high school included a new Library and the art room and computer labs would be enlarged.

The heating system in the Primary building would have had new temperature controls and air compressors and the HVAC equipment would have been replaced.
