Troop 435

Eileen Hooper's Brownie Troop 435 has kept busy this year. The girls have been earning try-its and patches they can proudly wear on their vests and sashes. (A try-it is a triangular patch that is worn on the front of the girls vest or sash and is earned by trying new things.)

Along with selling magazines and cookies the girls have gone swimming, roller skating and have been on informative field trips at the Bayberry Environmental Education Center in Phelps. The girls also have gone to the Rochester Museum where they spent time learning about science and architecture, earning more try-its.

Eileen's troop has learned many types of dance, from line dancing to the Hula. This year, a new experience for many was the Girl Scout lock-in, which was a fun, yet tiring, experience. The girls began early in the evening doing many things such as dancing, having their hair and nails done, face painting, watching movies and playing games. Many of the girls never wanted to go to bed.

Eileen's group also planned a trip to the Misty Hollow Program Center in Corning to learn all about horses. The girls learned about coloring and markings of the horses, as well as grooming and basic riding techniques. Many experienced their first camp out on this trip.

The Brownies have had a fun year of doing new things, learning to do different crafts, having the great experience of learning about themselves and others. Thanks to Eileen Hooper for a job well done.
