Sodus school gets ready for Fair Day
By Melissa White

fair daysThe students in the Sodus Primary School are getting ready for Fair Day June l2 . The theme is three-Ring Circus, and children in the first grade wing have made clowns from plastic foam bowls. They are all decorated to hang in the hallways.

All students and adults who brought in tee shirts had the chance to tye dye them in the school foyer.(One of Mrs. Manning's first-graders shows one off, and those hanging belong to Mrs. Southwick's second graders.)

Char DeFisher has shown us a "90's" way to tye dye. Back in the sixties, you would gather the material then place a rubber band on the material and dip it into dye. The students now use t-shirtssomething called Tumble Dye Spray. You crumble your shirt a little then spray the colors where ever you want them to be. (I wondered how they would be able to dye the shirts the "old fashioned" way - that's a lot of students and rubber bands!)

Hope to see you at Fair Day.
