Wayne County Fair royalty

Wayne County Fair queens courtNicole Rush, 15, a sophomore at Palmyra-Macedon High School was chosen as the 1998 Wayne County Fair Queen on May 1 at Gananda Central School. Nicole competed with 15 other contestants between the ages of 15-17 for the crown. She is the daughter of Rick and Linda Rush of Palmyra. Nicole enjoys horseback riding and swimming. Future plans include college to study veterinary medicine of dermatology.

Chosen as 1st Runner Up was Bobbie Anne Abson. Bobbie Anne, 15, is the daughter of Robyn Davis and Dan McGrath of Palymra and is a sophmore at Palymra-Macedon High.

2nd Runner Up went to Allison Tome of Palmyra. Allison, 16, is the daughter of Linda and Jerry Tome. She also is a sophmore at Pal-Mac High.

Crystal Wheeler of Marion was chosen as 3rd Runner Up. Crystal, 16, is a junior at Marion Jr-Sr High and is the daughter of Ron and DJ Wheeler.

Lauren Seuffert, a 9th grader at Gananda Central School was chosen as the 1998 Wayne County Fair Princess from 16 other contestants between the ages of 12-14. Lauren, 14, is the daughter of Colleen and John Dietz of Walworth. Lauren is a Junior Varsity soccer cheerleader and plays Junior Wayne County Fair princess courtVarsity soccer. She is active in many school organizations.

Chosen as 1st Runner Up was Tasha Rush, 13, of Palymra. Tasha is a 7th grader at Pal-Mac Middle School and is the daughter of Rick and Linda Rush.

2nd Runner Up went to Melissa LaBonty. Melissa, 12, is a 6th grader at Gananda and is the daughter of Jim and Mary LaBonty of Walworth.

Chosen as 3rd Runner Up was Jessica Bryant of Newark. Jessica, 14, is a 8th grader at Newark Middle School and is the daughter of Karen and Russell Watson.

Named as Miss Congeniality was Allison Huff of Williamson. Allison was chosen by all the contestants. Allison, 14, is an 8th grader at Williamson Middle School and the daughter of Tim and Bonnie Huff.

Pre-pageant activities included a welcome group photo session, pizza party and food and games get-together. Many local businesses donated gifts and gift certificates to the contestants and winners. The Queen and Princess and Courts will reign over the 1998 Wayne County Fair, August 10-15.
