Raptors keep winning; washed out Tuesday Severe weather suspended the NCBL game between the Newark Raptors and Geneva Knights Tuesday night. The game was in the bottom of the third inning with Newark holding a 3-0 advantage. The game will be continued from the point of suspension at a later unspecified date. During Sunday's game, the Raptors defeated the Knights 7-2 at McDonough Park. Darin Kinsolving drilled a three-run homer for the Newark squad and Alex Marconi added a two-run single. Mike Urtnowski hit a solo home run for Geneva. Jim Pomeroy pitched eight strong innings for the Raptors, wwho stand at 8-1 on the year. Last Saturday: Newark defeated the the Hornell Dodgers, 8-5 at Maple City Park. Corey Byrd was the winning pitcher, scattering ten hits and allowing just three runs. Newark's offense collected 13 hits. Chad Moon was 2 for 5 with an RBI double and a two-run home run (his first of the season). Kinsolving had an RBI double; Ray Goirigolzarri a triple, and Donnie Hood a triple. Brady Ballard was 2 for 5 with a stolen base; Hood, 3 for 4; Darian Stambersky, 2 for 5, and right-fielder Roderick Eustatius was 2 for 4, with three runs and a stolen base.
