Student triathlon
is final exam

Eleven Newark High students chose to participate in a triathlon rather than take a final exam in their Exercise Physiology class.

Monday morning, under the direction of science teacher Jane Grogan, students completed a 300-yard swim, 10-mile bike trek and three-mile run.

Participants in photos are Nick Truini and Greg Switzer, Ms. Grogan with Chris Reed, 8th grader Erin Daly, and Heidi Hellert.

Also taking part were Jim Castillo, Colleen McCusker, Chris Frey, Mindy Lopez, Michelle Zappia and Laurie Hannan.

The class is an elective for juniors and seniors (biology is a pre-requisite).

Wegmans provided healthy snacks for the students. More photos below.
