This week's thunderstorms have caused power outages, property damage, and lost sleep. Last night's high winds and thunder showers came through the area at about 1:30 a.m., causing many to lose electricity.

A tree came down on Williams St., Newark, taking power lines with it. The street was scorched in several areas, where the live wires danced on the wet pavement.

burned roadwayJust yesterday morning, wide-spread lightning caused electric outages throughout the Seneca, Ontario, Yates and Wayne Counties. Approximately 3000 customers were affected. The most extensive outages involved 1158 customers. Power was restored to the majority of these customers and by 9:30 yesterday morning.
