Website links bosses with job seekers

Employers can now use the Internet to find qualified candidates to fill job openings. The new service, America's Talent Bank, is a nationwide database of resumes accessible on the New York State Department of Labor website: www.labor.state.ny.us

America's Talent Bank (ATB) is offered in conjunction with America's Job Bank (AJB), an Internet-based, multi-state listing of more than 634,000 jobs nationwide. Both the Talent Bank and AJB are operated for the entire nation by the New York State Department of Labor. In one recent month, the Job Bank was accessed more than 56 million times by Internet users.

The system also broadens the exposure of resumes posted by job seekers, who can submit their resumes to the talent bank via the Internet. Job seekers posting resumes also can set specific criteria in order to target prospective employers based on factors such as salary requirements, location and others. Currently, ATB features more than 60,000 resumes.
