Sam Otto commissioned

Sam Otto, son of Sam and Nellie Otto of 4145 Ridge Chapel Rd., Marion, has been commissioned 2nd Lt. in the United States Army Reserve. He completed ROTC training at Rochester Institute of Technology where he graduated as an electrical engineer. He presently works for H.M. Cross.

Participating in the ceremony were his wife, Martha, and mother, Nellie, who pinned a 2nd Lt. bar on each shoulder. The First Salute Ceremony was given by his father, a Former Marine NCO, his brother, Steve, presently an NCO with 98th Division Band, and brother, Jeff, presently an NCO with 98th Division, Information & Management.

2nd Lt. Sam Otto will attend an Officer Basic Course (Signal Corps) at Fort Gordon, GA for 19 weeks. He will be accompanied by his wife. Upon completion he will return to 98th Division I & M and finish his term of duty of eight years.
