Spiritualism progam in Newark RESCHEDULED for March 24 (3/17/98) The Arcadia Historical Society will present a program on "Modern Spiritualism" on Tuesday, March 17, at 7:30 p.m. at the Arcadia Museum on High Street. The speaker will be Cheryl Minor of Rochester, a Spiritualist minister who will speak about Spiritualism of today. Modern Spiritualism was founded by the Fox Sisters in Hydesville, north of Newark, on March 31, 1848. This year is the 150th Anniversary. Spiritualists from around the United States will gather the weekend of March 28-29 at the Quality Inn. A program will take place at 1 p.m. on March 28. Robert Hoeltzel, Arcadia Town Historian, will be one of the speakers at this event and will lead a tour in the Hydesville area later in the weekend to sites with Spiritualist connections.
