Lady Reds banquet

The girls basketball banquet was held on March 15 at the American Legion.

Volunteer assistant coach Mike Mallaber served as master of ceremonies for the evening. Principal Gary Grant and Coach Diane Abrey extended thanks to the parents who volunteered throughout the season. Athletic director Mike Canale thanked the boosters and praised the players on their improvement during the season.

Junior Varsity Coach Kevin Daly had a good year. "Our kids really worked hard all season," he said. He thanked Mike Mallaber as a volunteer assistant coach.

Pictured are LaTanya Parker, Anna Saracino, Kadi Burgess, Nicole Milliman, Colleen Johnson, Heather Johnson, Kara Williams and Crystal McIlwain.

Named Most Valuable Players were Anna Saracino and Kara Williams; Crystal McIlwain won the Coach's Award.

The Newark varsity girls were 8-14. "We tried very hard to focus on improvement" said Abrey.

LaTanya Parker was a First Team All Finger Lakes selection. Freshman April Allen was Honorable Mention All League. Colleen Johnson will play in the Senior Exceptional Finger Lakes All-Star game on March 27 at the NY Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls.

Voted Most Improved were Kadi Burgess and Keya Collins. Heather Johnson and Nicole Milliman won the Greatest Desire awards, and the Coach's Award went to Colleen Johnson. The Most Valuable Player this season is LaTanya Parker.
